It has taken my life up to this point to realize that the meaning of life is not in what I accomplish but in who I am in relationship to myself and others. Let's take a moment to think about what the purpose of life really is. Is it about emptying the in box, crossing off items on our "To Do" list, keeping ourselves so busy doing that we forget how to be?
Life is filled with relationships; including those to ourselves, our family, friends, colleagues,the community, our environment, our finances, our physical beings, our spirit and the world around us. Everything is about relationships and the most important one is to ourselves. We must first learn how to honor, respect and love ourselves before we can offer and attract the same from others. How do we treat ourselves on a daily basis?
1. What do you think or say when you look in the mirror?
2. Do you set healthy boundaries?
3. Are you open to listen to your inner voice and intuition?
4. Can you take the time each day to enjoy the present moment?
5. When do you experience the beauty and nature around you?
6. How do you accept, unconditionally love, honor and respect yourself on a daily basis?
7. Are the foods you eat supporting you energetically, emotionally and spiritually?
8. Do you take the time to exercise and/or listen to emotionally uplifting music?
9. Can you spend time alone with yourself in quiet and enjoy your own company?
Once we realize that the relationship with ourself is the core connection to our relationship with everything else in the world then our life begins to shift in the direction of our goals and our dreams. Brutal honesty, fearless self discovery, and a willingness to persistently make changes to learn and grow results in the metamorphisis from the caterpillar into the butterfly. Intimate, fulfilling and healthy relationships are the rewards for such dedication to self.
When in the constant flux of doing, planning and arranging we forget how to have a relationship with Self. The emphasis becomes that of producing, finishing projects and results.
The past two weeks have emphasized the importance of putting down the doing and taking the time to offer unconditional love, support and guidance to those around me who may be facing their own challenges, crisis and disappointments. Conversing, laughing, sharing in times of joy and sadness are the keys to a fulfulling and successful life. Spend time today deciding how you can do things differently!

Let the Sunshine in
See life through empowered eyes. Clean the window of your perception, change your thoughts and your outlook. Begin to see life through your eyes instead of with them.
What can you create with your vision? Who do you want to become? What would you like to have? and How would you like to feel? You have the power to create the life you desire by beginning to focus on the direction of your choice and taking action to move toward your goals.
Make a conscious decision to do things differently. Uncover your purpose, dust off and reveal old sabotaging thoughts and beliefs while creating new empowering thoughts and beliefs. Spend time each day using your imagination. Break through comfort zones and visualize life the way you want it. Journal, shout out loud, and declare all that you desire. See it, feel it and experience the shift in energy as you grow and evolve into new ways of perceiving the experiences you encounter in your life.

Movement Matters in the Meantime
Movement is a miraculous catalyst for transforming negative energy into dynamic empowered thinking. Have you spent the day with an emotional vampire? Has your progress on a project plateaued? Do you need to take action but feel fearful and insecure? Whatever has you frozen in time movement can help blocked energy to release and flow in a positive direction.
Find the type of movement that suits you.
Play music and begin to sway to the rhythm, stomp your feet and sway your arms responding to your own creative flow. Let loose, get wild and crazy, shake out the cobwebs of negativity and begin to dance with courage, freedom and joy.
You may want to run on a treadmill, down a dirt road with nature or on the beach listening to the waves crashing along the shore.

Perhaps you prefer weight lifting. Feeling physically strong is a great way to gain courage and strength mentally in order to overcome hesitation to move forward through challenges.
Whatever form of movement you choose enjoy the process and watch miracles happen. Next time you feel stuck just get up and find an activity that excites you. Movement and taking action during times of sadness, fear, and being overwhelmed is a great way to stimulate a positive outlook and get results.

Music matters in the meantime
During transition from where you are to where you want to be, music can be incredibly inspiring, motivating and uplifting. Choosing music whose lyrics speak of courage, faith, overcoming obstacles and moving beyond the illusion of limitations can help you to take action when feeling powerless, in despair and out of sorts. Play music that makes you want to move your body and dance throughout the house. Notice the shift in your mood, listen and shout out the words, feel its vibration throughout your being and immerse yourself in the power of the music.
Release yourself physically, mentally and spiritually from the things that bind you to the problem. Feel freedom from what ails you as you shake off and detach from the challenges and obstacles of whatever is holding you captive to the negative. You will find that you begin to think out of the box, come up with creative solutions and initiate new actions that are in alignment with your vision and goals. One of my power songs is Soar by Christina Aguilera. Freedom from abuse
Freedom from abuse begins with self care. It begins with what you say to yourself all day long. What are the comments spoken unconsciously and continuously throughout the day? What are your thoughts when you look in a mirror, sit alone in your car or when you encounter a challenge too difficult to achieve? Listen carefully to the voice within. Are these comments loving, compassionate messages or are they self loathing and condemning? You have a choice to accept only those thoughts that encourage honor, respect and love of self and reject those that create disappointment, judgment and dis empowerment. Start by consciously observing your thoughts sifting through the constant chatter in your mind allowing only those that serve you to stay and converting the others to thoughts of power, strength and acceptance.
Pay close attention to your environment. Is your car, home or closets cluttered ? Are they in disarray or are they organized and filled with items that fill you with serenity, peace and power? Self care is reflected in the way you keep your surroundings. Do you surround yourself with things that bring you power or things that weaken you?
Do you allow yourself time alone? Is there a specified time each day dedicated to doing the things you like to do? It could be reading a book, spending time in nature, or taking a soothing bath. Meditation is another wonderful way to reconnect with your Spirit, your inner desires, passions and purpose. Who are you, what are your beliefs, what makes you feel good and what are the boundaries you need to set?
Writing in a journal is another method of self care. It helps to assess the day rewarding self when appropriate and making changes when necessary.
Starting right now, what can you do differently to send loving messages to self?

Empowerment is an inside job
Empowerment is an inside job! Stay conscious of your thoughts, create a vision, become inspired, take bold action and detach from the results. Dare to dream: entertain your most wild and crazy desire. Continue to fan the flame of your intentions understanding and having faith that you are limitless potential. Only restricted mindset can block the path to your desired destination.
No one can take away your dreams, your desire, or your spirit. Stay connected to your moral compass, following your inner truth.
Practise connecting to your inner truth on a daily basis through meditation, spending time in nature, being still long enough to observe your thoughts, and focusing on your breath. Take the time to give your ear, shoulder, and time to someone else. Perform small anonymous acts of kindness.

Reconnect with your heart center
At some point you realize that your life doesn't look anything the way you expected. You get what you want only to discover that it is not what you thought it would be. You are stuck, at least you think you are stuck. There are many things you can do in the meantime to stand in your personal power taking action to create the life and relationships you desire.
As you begin to peel the layers of illusion you become more and more conscious and realize that nothing remains the same. Everything is always changing and what once worked is no longer effective and new behavior and beliefs are born. It forces you to grow, evolve and grow some more. It requires continual movement beyond your comfort zone. You need to roll up your sleeves and get ready to do the work; It requires consistency, persistence and accountability in creating conscious thoughts, feelings and actions that will determine your results.
Some of the things you can begin to do right now while you are searching for your answers are:
1. Objectively observe your thoughts
2. Be aware of where you are in the present moment in thoughts, feelings , actions and results
3. Accept where you are without judgment
4. Know that you have the ability to make choices to change your direction and your results
5. Understand if your decisions are coming from a place of love or fear
6. Accountability, Only you can make the changes necessary to change your life.
7. Surround yourself with things that bring you power (your diet, environment, friends, etc)
8. Write a love letter to self acknowledging all of the attributes and qualities you admire in yourself.
9. Create a declaration to self stating your vision for the future and the direction you will head in.
10. Your number one relationship is with God, your higher power and Source.
The truth of the matter is that others may feel as though they can impose their beliefs on you, control, bully or abuse you but the reality is that you don't need to let that happen.
